Sarah
I am a native speaker teacher of English from near Bristol, England. I qualified as a teacher in 1999 at the Benedict school, St. Petersburg, Russia. Since then, I have been working not only as a teacher but also as a Director of Studies at schools in Moscow, plus as an editor and translator of various texts and articles.
I teach all ages and levels, from 3-year-old children up to adults. I have experience using a wide range of textbooks and materials, both off and online. My favourite textbook series is English File, among the general English books available. Exam preparation is also something that I am enthusiastic about. To date, I have had 10 students who have gained 7.5 and above overall for IELTS, for example.
I believe passionately in hearing the student's voice and use the communicative approach in my lessons. I am a 'people person' and greatly enjoys having contact with students from all walks of life.
I graduated from Sheffield University in 2001 with a BA (with Distinction for spoken languages) in Russian, Czech and Spanish. In addition, I have a full TEFL qualification and CACHE.
